Hot tubbin'
I recently hung out at a rad hot tub, and got stoked up on hot tubs and hut tub spaces. In the best case scenario, they embody everything I love about California. They are a place for hanging out naked in soothing water, and when you leave, you feel blissed out. I like the far-out redwood environments of a good hot tub too, like the ones that are open to the night sky, which remind me of the best kind of night spent on the north coast. Anyway, these are a few recent attempts at sketching out some fantasy tubs.
On a different note, I just got these drawings back from a little show in October. The show was set up so that the visual artists would respond to the work of young poets. At the opening the poets read their work. I don't read too much poetry, but this was a nice chance to challenge myself to make something with a fairly narrow and defined set of possibilities. I can't say exactly what the poem was about, but maybe it was about a monument.

There's a show too
Like I said before there's a book release and a show coming up. The show is called PAST HIGHS and features other rad people. More info here. Maybe it'll be in Hatch's website some day... Here's a pic of the book covered in solid ice.

Being Back
Now that I'm done getting married, I can finally spend a second in the studio and make a couple of drawings. I'm still trying to remember where my hands are, so these drawings are a little bit clunky.
If you live in Oakland I'll be posting info here soon for the book release of FREE DRAWINGS, stay posted.
