I haven't been posting too much recently mainly for logistical reasons. Here are a few little nuggets from things I have been secretly making. Also just worked on a show with Nathaniel Russell and Creative Growth folks over at Rock Paper Sissors in Oakland. Someday I'll shoot a pic of it and post it.
I moved back to California. It is so awesome here. I used to believe in the philosophy of no-go-backs, but this time it's different. There is there here.
Recent things: taking the ferry to Staten Island at sunset thinking of Aurthur Russell songs, walking across the Brooklyn Bridge at night and watching the pink crescent moon set behind the statue of liberty, and seeing a huge brick building with every single window bricked up. Walking around this town makes my feet hurt, but is keeping me sane.
Last week Juliette Spertus commissioned this mural for her son Galen. The theme is "animals having fun", and is a mash up of images from Juliette and her husband Darby's childhoods. Basically I'm pumped that I got to spend a week thinking like a little kid, and by week I mean my entire life.
Emma and I (mainly Emma) have started having little one night art shows in our home. Our first show was last sunday and here's a few pics from that. The show feaured Caleb Rogers, Rachael Higgins, and me. I'm just posting pics of my installation and Caleb's, but you can see more pics at the Subletters Blog. Thanks to all folks who made it out.
